Stainless Steel Reeds |
| Stainless steel has a high tensile strength and will vibrate faster than softer metals. Stainless reeds produce sound that is powerful yet can be played soft for in close calling. A choice of two reed thicknesses stamped from .002" and .0025" stainless. The .002 reeds allow for a coarser sound than the thicker .0025 reeds. They are pre tuned for loud and medium volumes meeting the need of the most discriminating manufacturer. |
| Brass Voices |
| Brass is a softer material than stainless producing a deeper tone and slower frequency. Depending on the species that is being imitated or enticed brass is a long favorite of many manufactures. |
| Mylar Voices |
| Mylar reeds are available in three different gauges, .005, .007 and .010. The rule to remember is...the thicker the reed, the higher the pitch. All three thicknesses are pre-tuned to loud and medium volumes. Mylar reeds can also be used in open reed applications because the mylar is less prone to damage than metal reeds. |
| Double Reeds |
| We can supply the above
reeds in a double combination. The upper reed is especially designed to
give a range of different sounds that cannot be obtained with a single
reed. |
| Voice Bodies & Sleeves |
| Our voice bodies are made of non-corrosive metal. They will not rust. Precision made having a true diameter of .200" with a .010" taper for a snug fit. Metal sleeves were developed for existing applications and are used as an adaptor for over sized holes. Sleeve dimensions are 1" long with a true .258” diameter taper from .260." |
| Specialized Services |
| Blading of Reeds is a process by which a shim or a thin blade is slipped under the reed and then removed causing a permanent lift of the reed and changing the tone. |
